For navigation, the software is using the NMEA0183 or Garmin PVT protocol (when connected through USB). However, to download or uplodad waypoints, routes and tracks, each GPS manufacturer uses its own protocol. At this moment we only support Garmin's serial and USB protocols to transfer waypoints, routes and tracks.
